Buyers come for women's contemporary, young contemporary and missy apparel, footwear, accessories and gift items, and the organiser says its buyers represent boutiques and department stores from Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota and Nebraska.

Who can attend

• Verified retail buyers only. The market is wholesale. First-time visitors are asked on arrival for a sales tax number plus one further proof of business, such as a retail sales license, an invoice for goods received from a factory, or proof of a commercial checking account.
• Register ahead. Retailer registration is online, and the exhibitor and line list for the upcoming market is posted on the organiser's site.
• On the floor. At recent markets the organiser has offered a complimentary continental breakfast and refreshments at the show floor café, lunch inside the RiverCentre, and an evening gathering in the rotunda after the first day; check the amenities page for the January schedule.
