The San Francisco Bay Area Small Business Expo runs June 23, 2027 at the South San Francisco Conference Center in South San Francisco, California.

What it is

The San Francisco show is one stop on Small Business Expo's national tour, a one-day business-to-business trade show, conference and networking event. The organizer also calls it the San Francisco Small Business Conference.

It is for small business owners, entrepreneurs, startups and B2B professionals in San Francisco and the wider Bay Area, and the organizer says remote and home-based business owners are welcome too. Small Business Expo says it has run events since 2008.

The organizer describes it as a place to showcase products, find resources and take part in seminars, workshops and speed networking. Exhibitors are companies selling to small businesses, from software to professional services.

Hours, admission and getting there

• The FAQ says check-in opens at 9:30 a.m. and events run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
• To register, you enter your name and email on the city page and click "Register (or upgrade)". The same form is used later to upgrade your badge type, so use the same email address. When we checked, the page said registration for next year would open soon.
• The organizer's FAQ says the expo is free to attend. Paid badge types give access to extra networking spaces, including the Networking Happy Hour.
• Parking is free at the conference center, the Park Point Hotel and the DoubleTree Hotel, and there is also free street parking on Utah and Mitchell Avenues. The organizer encourages public transit or ride-share and runs a free shuttle from the South San Francisco BART, ferry and Caltrain stations.

On the floor

• Workshops and presentations cover marketing, finance, operations and growth strategy. The organizer says they focus on Bay Area issues such as scaling in a high-cost market and using technology to work more efficiently.
• Networking includes speed networking sessions and industry meet-ups.
• At check-in, attendees get a color-coded Dotted® badge that shows their industry.
• Exhibitors and sponsors often run offers and discounts that are only available at the expo. Once you register, the Small Business Expo event app carries show announcements.
