North East Optical Show 2026

The North East Optical Show (NEOS) is a trade-only show of independent eyewear collections, optical labs, lens and technology companies for optical shops and eye doctors. Independent optical sales reps started it in Providence in 2022, and it now runs spring and fall shows in different cities.

What it is

NEOS calls itself "An Independent Optical Show." Independent optical sales reps started it in Providence, Rhode Island, in 2022. The aim was to promote each other's lines and to show optical shops and doctors how they can regain their independence.

Frame collections are still at the center, and the organizer says the show has grown to include labs, lens companies and other technology firms. For this fall show it lists "Over 80 collections, labs, tech & More." The lineup changes from show to show, and the organizer keeps each one small enough that visitors can see every exhibitor.

Visiting the fall show

• One day, a Sunday. The show floor opens at 10:00 am and closes at 4:00 pm. The organizer notes that Sunday may be the only day off for many attendees.
• Trade only, free floor. NEOS is not open to the public. Anyone who works in optical may attend, and families are welcome. Entry to the show floor is free, though classes or other events held during a show may carry a charge. Classes are usually offered at spring shows.
• On the floor. Light snacks and an open bar run through the day.
• Getting there. Amtrak arrives at Union Station, 1.7 miles from the venue. Nearby airports are DCA, IAD and BWI. The organizer negotiates show rates at nearby hotels.
