PetQuest Pet Industry Trade Show 2027

A retail education and trade show event specifically designed for independent pet retailers featuring breakout sessions, networking, and industry sponsor engagements.

PetQuest 2027

PetQuest runs July 8–11, 2027 at the Roberts Centre in Wilmington, Ohio. Exhibitor set-up is July 8, and the trade show floor is open July 9–11.

What it is

PetQuest is a summer grooming and pet-care education event and trade show produced by Barkleigh. The organizer describes it as held every summer in mid-Ohio at "the industry's most dog friendly hotel and convention center," with a relaxed, easy-going feel. It is for people who make a full- or part-time living from professional pet care: groomers and mobile groomers, kennel operators and staff, trainers, daycare operators, veterinarians and vet techs, pet retailers, animal behaviorists, shelter staff, breeders and handlers.

This is not a public show. The organizer says only pet professionals may attend.

Trade show and seminars

The trade show brings pet-care manufacturers and distributors from around the country, and many offer show specials, demonstrations and discount pricing, so attendees come to stock up on tools, equipment and boutique items. Trade show admission is included for registered seminar attendees, and a trade-show-only admission is also sold.

Floor demonstrations and the grooming contests can be watched from the trade show on all three exhibiting days. Printed program books can be requested from the organizer.

Grooming competitions

The grooming tournaments run on Friday and Saturday, with classes for Poodle, All Other Purebreds, Wire Coated Breed, and Sporting & Salon Freestyle at three skill levels. Sunday brings a clipper challenge and the Up & Coming and Open Creative Styling tournaments.

The organizer notes that attendee viewing of contests starts when the trade show opens at 10am. PetQuest placings also qualify groomers for the Rescue Round-Up Invitational at Groom Expo.

Venue notes

The Roberts Centre is a Holiday Inn hotel with an attached convention center, between Dayton, Cincinnati and Columbus; the nearest airports are Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky (CVG) and Columbus. Although the hotel is dog friendly, the convention center is not: only dogs used for competition or demonstrations, and service animals, are allowed on the show floor.
