Winter Meeting and Nuclear Technology Expo 2026

The ANS Winter Conference & Expo is the American Nuclear Society's annual fall conference. It combines technical sessions, panels and embedded topical meetings for professionals and students across nuclear science and technology with an exhibit hall of suppliers. It moves between host cities.

Winter Meeting and Nuclear Technology Expo runs November 15–18, 2026 at Arizona Grand Resort, Phoenix.

What it is

The American Nuclear Society now calls this meeting the ANS Winter Conference & Expo. The 2026 theme is "Going Critical: Creating a Durable Nuclear Resurgence." It pairs a technical and panel program for people across nuclear science and technology with an exhibit hall for suppliers and other organizations. Three topical meetings are embedded in the program:

• International Congress on Advances in Nuclear Power Plants (ICAPP 2026)
• Advances in Thermal Hydraulics (ATH 2026)
• Advanced Reactor Safety (ARS 2026)

New this year, panel sessions are labeled Foundational or Explorational so attendees can pick a level, alongside the in-depth Technical sessions. ANS Connect is aimed at people who are new to ANS, attending on their own or looking to meet more people. It matches small groups of attendees with an experienced member who helps them navigate the conference.

Exhibit hall hours

• Sunday, Nov. 15: Opening Reception in the Exhibit Hall, 5:00–7:00 pm (registration opens at 2:00 pm)
• Monday, Nov. 16: Exhibit Hall 7:00 am–3:30 pm
• Tuesday, Nov. 17: Exhibit Hall 7:00 am–3:30 pm
• Wednesday, Nov. 18: the program schedule lists no exhibit hall hours, and lunch is on your own.

Registration

Full conference registration covers all sessions, networking and evening events, exhibit hall admission, and breakfast and lunch on select days. One-day registration covers sessions and daytime food for one day but not evening events.

ANS members pay a lower rate than non-members. Attendees under 18 need prior approval and a signed waiver.

The meeting moves between host cities. The 2027 ANS Winter Conference & Expo is October 31–November 3, 2027 at The Westin Washington, DC Downtown.
