FABTECH 2027 in Chicago

FABTECH moves back to Chicago for September 13–16, 2027, at McCormick Place. That is four days, one more than the 2026 show in Las Vegas, and a month earlier in the year.

What it is

In the organiser's words, FABTECH is North America's largest metal forming, fabricating, welding and finishing event, and has brought the sheet metal manufacturing industry together for more than 40 years. It is produced by industry associations rather than a commercial organiser; the associations whose logos the site carries include the American Welding Society, the Fabricators & Manufacturers Association, SME and the Precision Metalforming Association. Visitors come to see new technology, attend conference sessions and meet suppliers.

Finding your way round the floor

The floor is split into pavilions, each covering one part of the industry: Forming & Fabricating, Welding, Automation, Finishing, Stamping & Press Automation, Tube & Pipe and Job Shop. Exhibitors, sessions and new-product listings can be filtered by pavilion on the organiser's site, which is the quickest way to plan a day on a floor this size.

Conference and admission

• Conference. The 2026 programme ran to more than 180 expert-led sessions and workshops, booked separately from show floor admission.
• Emerging Leaders. A programme for early-career manufacturing professionals runs alongside the conference.
• Free floor if you register early. For 2026, show floor admission was complimentary before a published cut-off date and charged after it and on site. Check the 2027 deadline on the organiser's registration page.
• Hours. Expo hours for 2027 are not yet posted. In 2026 the last day closed an hour earlier than the others.
