Field Service 2027

Field Service Next is Worldwide Business Research's conference series for service and support leaders, including service directors and aftermarket executives. It covers workforce, process and technology topics such as AI, IoT and dispatch. The series began in San Diego, where Service Next West is held, and now runs sibling events in other regions.

Service Next West runs April 26–28, 2027 in San Diego.

What it is

Service Next West is the West Coast conference in Worldwide Business Research's (WBR) Field Service Next series. It is aimed at service directors and aftermarket leaders.

The organizer's pitch is that "the future of service is bigger than the field": the program covers growing technician teams that stay, adopting technology without the headaches, and turning service into a revenue driver. The organizer frames the program around three themes:

• People – recruiting around technician shortages, career paths, retention
• Process – aligning service, sales and operations for a consistent customer experience
• Technology – moving AR, IoT and AI out of pilot, with an AI Advisory Lab and site tours that show service technology in action

WBR says Field Service Next has run "for over 20 years" and that the series started in San Diego before adding flagship conferences elsewhere. An advisory board of service executives helps shape the program around peer exchange.

Registration and format

• Two pass lengths. A three-day pass covers April 26–28. A four-day pass adds deep-dive workshops on April 29, the day after the main conference.
• Separate rates by company type. Service and support executives and solution providers (software and technology vendors, consultants, 3PLs) register at different rates. WBR reviews solution-provider registrations. Team discounts apply to qualified service professionals who register together.
• Side events. The organizer lists a Women in Field Service Breakfast, a C-Suite Boardroom, AI Labs, a Speaker Appreciation Dinner and the Field Service Next Awards.
