gamescom 2027 runs August 25–29, 2027 at Koelnmesse in Cologne, Germany, with August 25 as the Business and Media Day and the show open to the public from August 26. The wider gamescom week starts earlier: gamescom dev on August 23 and 24, and gamescom Opening Night Live on the evening of August 24.

What it is

gamescom is run by Koelnmesse together with game – The German Games Industry Association, and describes itself as the world's biggest event for computer and video games. The halls split into a business area for trade visitors and exhibitors and an entertainment area for the public; the 2026 hall plan also had indie, retro and family, cosplay, cards and boards, and devcom/congress areas.

Planning notes

• Business area is weekday-only. In the 2027 trade-visitor hours, the business area opens 9:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 25 and 9:00 a.m.–8:00 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, and is closed on Saturday and Sunday. The entertainment area runs 9:00 a.m.–8:00 p.m. Thursday to Sunday.
• Wednesday is not a public day. The organiser may admit a limited number of private visitors to the entertainment area on August 25, from 1:00 p.m. and only with a Wildcard; trade visitors do not need one.
• Getting there. Köln Messe/Deutz station sits next to the fairground, about a three-minute walk from the South Entrance.
