IBIE 2028

IBIE 2028, the International Baking Industry Exposition, runs September 9–13, 2028 at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas. The expo hall is open Sunday through Wednesday, September 10–13. The IBIEducate program and other partner education begins a day earlier, on Saturday, September 9.

What it is

IBIE, which also goes by The Baking Expo, is a trade show for the grain-based food industry. It covers ingredients, equipment, packaging and technology. The show is jointly owned by the American Bakers Association (ABA) and the Bakery Equipment Manufacturers and Allieds (BEMA), with support from the Retail Bakers of America (RBA).

It is a nonprofit event, and the organizers say all net proceeds go back into the industry through research, advocacy and education. IBIE is held every three years in Las Vegas. Because the show comes round so rarely, the organizers note that many exhibitors time product launches around it.

The FAQ says over 1,000 exhibitors and approximately 20,000 attendees came to IBIE 2025.

Attendees come from across the baking supply chain: wholesale bakery plants, retail and artisan bakeries, in-store supermarket bakeries, pizza restaurants and chains, foodservice operators, distributors and suppliers. The floor is organized by industry segment, including wholesale baking, retail baking, allied suppliers, snack foods, pizza and artisan baking.

Education and show features

Registration covers the expo, the show-floor demos and all IBIEducate sessions. The organizers say IBIE 2028 will offer over 250 education sessions and demos, in tracks such as business management, sales and marketing, workforce, AI, automation and robotics, cake and pastry decorating, food science and product development, sustainability, and food safety.

On the floor you'll find the RBA Retail Bakers Center with live demos, the Artisan Village, the Wholesale Bakers Center, short stage talks, and Chef Talks with speakers from Mexico and Latin America. The RBA also runs Business of Baking for Beginners, an all-day workshop for people with fewer than 10 years in the industry.

Admission rules

• IBIE is a trade event, not a consumer show. People outside the baking industry can register under "Allied/Other".
• No children under 13 are allowed on the show floor, including infants in strollers or carriers, and there is no childcare. Guests aged 13 and older need their own registration.
• Only authorized media may use professional camera equipment on the floor.
• Expo hall hours and badge pickup details had not been announced when this page was written. International visitors can use an International Trade Center lounge and can request visa invitation letters once they have registered.
