LA Art Show 2027

LA Art Show is a modern and contemporary fine art fair held each January at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Galleries, museums and non-profit arts organizations from around the world exhibit painting, sculpture, works on paper, installation, photography, design, video and performance, and gallery works are for sale to collectors and the public.

LA Art Show runs January 6–10, 2027 at the Los Angeles Convention Center's West Hall in Los Angeles. The run opens with the Opening Night Premiere on Wednesday, January 6, and the show is open to the public Thursday through Sunday, January 7–10.

What it is

LA Art Show is a modern and contemporary fine art fair. The organizer says over 90 galleries, museums and non-profit arts organizations from around the world exhibit there, showing painting, sculpture, works on paper, installation, photography, design, video and performance. Works shown by galleries are for sale.

Beyond their booths, participating galleries also put on special exhibits, and the fair is organized into specialized sections. The organizer states that more than 180,000 square feet of exhibition space is given over to galleries.

Opening Night Premiere

The Opening Night Premiere runs Wednesday, January 6, 2027, from 6pm to 10pm, and needs its own Opening Night ticket. For 2026 the premiere was a gala benefiting the show's beneficiary, the American Heart Association, with fine art, entertainment, and food and beverages from Los Angeles restaurants. VIP Red Card members get into the premiere free.

Membership is by invitation and is mainly for art patrons and collectors, curators, museum directors and gallery owners. It also gives a first look at the art before the general public, access to the VIP Lounge, and unlimited admission on regular show days.

• Thursday, January 7 to Sunday, January 10: 12pm–7pm each day

The venue address is 1201 South Figueroa Street, Los Angeles, CA 90015. You can buy tickets online or at the door, and the organizer recommends buying online to skip the ticket-counter line. Tickets are non-refundable.

Every child needs a regular ticket except infants and toddlers under two. Parking is at the Convention Center or nearby lots.

Sections and programs

• Modern + Contemporary: the largest section. It shows contemporary painting, illustration, sculpture and more from galleries in Los Angeles, the Pacific Rim and other countries.
• DIVERSEartLA: a programming section of performance art, installations, exhibits and programs curated by museums and arts organizations. The organizer says it donates 50,000 square feet of exhibition space to these organizations each year, and the work in this section is not for sale. Marisa Caichiolo curates the section overall, with individual curators from each institution.
• Featured Exhibitions: installations, performances and exhibitions by participating galleries that go beyond the booth spaces.

Artsy, the online art marketplace, is the show's online partner and hosts the exhibitors' work.

Who exhibits, and house rules

Only galleries can exhibit, not individual artists. Galleries apply online and go through a selection process. Artists may not show portfolios to galleries at the show, but they can take a business card and get in touch later.

Most galleries can ship purchased art straight from the show. Cameras are allowed only for approved press with a Press Pass. Sketchbooks and outside artwork are not allowed, and there is no coat or bag check.

Only service dogs with documentation are admitted.
