Lakeshore Art Festival in Muskegon 2027

The Lakeshore Art Festival is a juried outdoor fine art and craft festival in downtown Muskegon, Michigan. Run by the City of Muskegon's Downtown Development Authority, it pairs a Hackley Park fine art show with a craft market, an artisan food market, authors and children's activities.

The Lakeshore Art Festival runs June 26–27, 2027 in Muskegon.

What it is

This is a public outdoor art festival in downtown Muskegon, Michigan. It is not a trade-only show. The organizer describes "a unique blend of fine art, handcrafted goods, music, food, and fun".

The program features nearly 250 juried fine art and specialty craft exhibitors, a Children's Lane, an artisan food market, street performers and interactive art stations. The City of Muskegon's Downtown Development Authority runs the festival. It grew out of Muskegon Art in the Park, which began in Hackley Park in 1961.

The Muskegon Lakeshore Chamber of Commerce relaunched it as the Lakeshore Art Festival in 2013.

How the festival is laid out

• Fine Art/Fine Craft is in Hackley Park, in downtown Muskegon's Heritage Village. Artists from around the country exhibit there. A professional juror judges the cash awards on the festival's first day.
• Craft Market & Artisan Food fills the downtown streets with craft exhibitors: jewelry, lawn art, home décor, apparel, toys and more. The Artisan Food Market is on Clay Ave.
• Author's Alley, on Clay Ave and 4th Street, hosts Michigan authors.
• Children's Lane has hands-on booths for kids and families. Street performers work the festival grounds.

For exhibitors

Fine art and craft exhibitors are juried and apply online through Zapplication. The organizer lists media categories that include clay, digital art, drawing/pastels, fibers, glass, jewelry, metals, mixed media, oils, photography, printmaking, sculpture, watercolor and wood. Production-studio jewelry is not allowed.
