Laser World of Photonics 2027

Laser World of Photonics 2027 runs June 22–25, 2027 at Messe München in Munich. The World of Photonics Congress runs alongside it, June 20–25, 2027, at the ICM – International Congress Center München, and starts two days before the halls open.

What it is

Laser World of Photonics is a trade fair for photonics components, systems and applications, organized by Messe München. It has been held every two years since 1973.

The organizers call it "the world's leading trade fair" for photonics. The exhibition covers integrated photonics, biophotonics and medical engineering, laser systems for industrial production, optics, optoelectronics, sensors and optical measurement, data transmission, illumination and energy, and quality control.

Hours

Visitor hours match those of the parallel fairs World of Quantum and automatica:

• Tuesday–Thursday, June 22–24: 9:00–17:00
• Friday, June 25 (last day): 9:00–16:00

Parallel events

• World of Photonics Congress (June 20–25, ICM): a research congress made up of five scientific conferences plus application panels held in the exhibition halls. The organizers say it has around 3,000 presentations, talks and poster sessions, and more than 3,500 researchers attend. Congress participants can also visit the three trade fairs.
• World of Quantum (June 22–25): a trade fair for quantum technology components, systems and applications, held alongside LASER since 2022.
• automatica (June 22–25): Messe München's trade fair for intelligent automation and robotics, held in the same halls at the same time.

Practical notes

You can only photograph or film on the grounds with Messe München's prior authorization. Animals are not allowed except assistance dogs, and there is free Wi-Fi in the halls. The LASER network also includes Laser World of Photonics China, which runs March 8–10, 2027, and Laser World of Photonics India, which was held September 16–18, 2026.
