Energy Council's Houston forum (formerly Northam) is a private executive forum for the U.S. upstream oil and gas sector. Operators, investors, financiers and strategic partners meet there to discuss capital allocation, M&A and energy investment across North America.

What it is

Energy Council describes the event as "a private executive forum for leaders across the U.S. upstream oil and gas sector." Over two days, operators, investors, financiers and strategic partners discuss capital allocation, energy security, M&A and energy investment across North America. The program is built around keynotes, discussions and roundtables.

The organizer expects 350+ executive decision-makers and 40+ speakers, including CEOs, CFOs and COOs from operators, private equity firms, investment banks and intelligence firms. Attendees include IOCs and majors, small- to mid-cap independents, private equity and private credit, investment banks, commodity traders, oilfield services firms and LPs.

The 2026 agenda covers the next phase of Permian Basin development, capital discipline amid market volatility, the M&A pipeline, and the role of natural gas and LNG in meeting power and data center demand. Sessions are held under the Chatham House Rule.

Program and passes

• October 28: a charity golf and cocktail social in the afternoon.
• October 29: the Energy Council Awards of Excellence gala dinner in the evening.
• Pass structure: a conference-only pass covers both days, with drinks, lunch and the golf social. A seat at the gala dinner is included in the all-access pass or can be added separately. Company packages include a hosted dinner table. The organizer's 1-to-1 matchmaking program is not included in the standard passes.
• Complimentary passes: a limited number are available to capital allocators and E&P companies making active upstream commitments. Applications go through the organizer.
