What it is

PV ModuleTech USA is a two-day conference on PV module supply to the U.S. utility-scale solar market. The organizer frames its goal as mapping U.S. module supply channels "out to 2028 and beyond." It gathers solar developers, asset owners, investors, PV manufacturers, policymakers, and downstream and third-party entities.

PV Tech, part of Informa Markets, runs it. PV Tech has run ModuleTech conferences since 2017, and 2027 will be its sixth ModuleTech dedicated to the U.S. utility-scale sector.

What the program covers

The organizer pitches the two days as "urgent fact-finding" for module buyers, investors and third parties. The questions and challenges it sets out include:

• who the new module suppliers from Southeast Asia and India are, and where they source wafers and cells
• how much wafer and cell capacity has come online in Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, Cambodia, Laos and Indonesia, with a focus on supply traceability
• whether importing from Europe is more attractive
• what a good deal looks like for module contracts delivering in 2028
• module quality and reliability, and the financial health of suppliers

Format and setting

In 2027 the conference is in Napa for the fifth consecutive year, with networking both on-site and off-site. The 2026 program ran sessions and panels on module availability, procurement under tariffs and AD/CVD, global supply, test-lab failure analysis and factory quality assurance.

It ended day one with a wine-tasting evening at a nearby winery. Delegates who register also get a one-month trial of PV Tech Premium, with the activation link sent after the event.
