Rock 'n' Roll San Diego 2027

Rock 'n' Roll San Diego is the original race of the IRONMAN Group's Rock 'n' Roll Running Series, held since 1998. The marathon and half marathon run from Balboa Park to downtown alongside a 5K, and a free, public Health & Fitness Expo at the San Diego Convention Center handles packet pickup.

Rock 'n' Roll San Diego runs June 5–6, 2027 in San Diego.

What it is

The organizer calls this 'The Original Rock 'n' Roll': the first race in what became the Rock 'n' Roll Running Series, held since 1998. The race starts at Balboa Park, finishes downtown, and passes through up to eight San Diego neighborhoods.

Distances are marathon, half marathon and 5K. The Health & Fitness Expo is free and open to the public, with running technology, fitness apparel, health and nutrition information and interactive displays. Runners must go to the expo to collect their race packets.

The expo is at the San Diego Convention Center (111 W. Harbor Dr.), Halls FGH:

• Friday, June 4: 12 PM – 7 PM
• Saturday, June 5: 9 AM – 5 PM

Race weekend

• Saturday, June 5: 5K at 7 AM from Presidents Way & Park Blvd., with a finish festival on Balboa Dr and El Prado; Yoga in the Park, powered by lululemon, at 9 AM at 6th and Quince
• Sunday, June 6: marathon and half marathon both start at 6:15 AM from Sixth Ave & Quince St at Balboa Park; Finish Line Festival at Waterfront Park, 7 AM – 3 PM; official after party 10 AM – 2 PM at Carnitas' Snack Shack
