SWANA RCon Conference 2027
About SWANA RCon Conference
Leadership-focused gathering for public and private sector waste management professionals, formerly known as WasteCon.
SWANA RCon 2027
RCon 2027 takes place September 21–24, 2027 in Portland, Oregon. The Solid Waste Association of North America has not yet named the venue or published the exhibit hall days; in 2026 the hall closed a day before the conference ended.
What it is
RCon is SWANA's annual conference for the waste, recycling and resource management profession. SWANA describes it as an experience that helps practitioners reach their professional goals through training, connection and educational sessions. The organizer says RCon 2026 in St. Louis brought together more than 1,500 professionals from across North America, and that its sold-out exhibit hall featured more than 200 organizations.
What the programme includes
Based on the 2026 programme, RCon combines:
- SWANA training courses held at the conference;
- keynote sessions, Rapid Insights sessions and roundtable discussions;
- tours;
- networking events and an exhibit hall of services, products and solutions;
- SWANA's annual awards, presented around the conference.
In 2026 two other gatherings were held alongside RCon: the Circularity Forum, hosted by the National Recycling Coalition, and the National Waste and Recycling Association's Fall Safety & Standards Meetings.
Exhibiting and future dates
Companies interested in exhibiting in 2027 are asked to contact SWANA directly. RCon 2028 is set for October 3–6, 2028 in Raleigh, North Carolina.
