What it is

The showcase is new, launched by UKi Media & Events as one of four technology pillars of Vehicle Tech Week North America. The organizer's content-program page also says: "The Engine Expo is back as Advanced Chassis and Powertrain." It is aimed at engineers, developers and technology suppliers working on electric, hybrid and internal-combustion vehicle programs.

The focus is how propulsion, vehicle dynamics, software control, thermal strategy and validation fit together. Product areas on the floor include:

• Powertrain & electrification: e-axles, hybrid systems, power electronics and inverters
• Battery & energy storage
• Thermal management
• Chassis & vehicle dynamics: braking, suspension, steering
• Simulation, modeling & validation
• Systems integration & platform engineering

Co-located shows and the conference

The showcase shares Vehicle Tech Week with three co-located expos: Automotive Design & In-Cabin Expo, Intelligent Vehicle Expo and Automotive Testing Expo. The organizer describes the technical conference as free and running all three days.

It has four tracks: Vehicle Design & Cabin, Intelligent Vehicle, Vehicle Testing, and Advanced Chassis & Powertrain. The chassis and powertrain track covers battery and thermal systems, vehicle dynamics and chassis integration, hybridization strategies and e-fuels.
