What it is

This is the annual meeting of the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery (ASLMS), covering laser, light and energy-based technologies in medicine. The 2027 meeting is the society's 46th Annual Conference.

It is for anyone who works with medical lasers and other energy-based devices in clinical, research, educational or manufacturing roles, including scientists, engineers, clinicians, surgeons, early-career innovators and industry professionals. The program is built from workshops, plenary sessions, special events and newly submitted abstracts.

How the week is laid out

• Pre-Conference: April 14, 2027
• Conference: April 15–18, 2027
• Exhibits: April 15–17, 2027, so the hall closes before the final conference day

ASLMS says the schedule has more than ten hours of exhibit hall time from Thursday through Saturday with no sessions running against it.

Abstracts and trainees

The call for abstracts closes December 8, 2026 at 1:00 PM CT. Submissions go under Clinical Applications or Basic Science and Translational Research, with sub-categories such as photobiomodulation, photodynamic therapy, laser-tissue interaction, tattoos, scars and body contouring.

Students, residents and fellows get free ASLMS membership during training and reduced registration fees.
