Electrical Wire Processing Technology Expo 2027

The Electrical Wire Processing Technology Expo (EWPTE) is an annual trade show and technical conference for the cable and wire harness manufacturing industry. It is produced by WHMA/Global Electronics Association and pairs an exhibit floor of processing suppliers with professional development courses.

Electrical Wire Processing Technology Expo runs May 4–6, 2027 in Milwaukee.

What it is

EWPTE is the trade show and technical conference of WHMA/Global Electronics Association. The organizer describes WHMA as "the ONLY trade association exclusively representing the cable and wire harness manufacturing industry".

The show is for anyone who designs, specifies, buys, installs, sells, maintains or manufactures cable assemblies, cord sets and wiring harnesses. The industries it serves are:

• Aerospace
• Automotive and transportation
• Consumer technology
• Defense and military
• Medical instruments
• Off-highway
• Recreational

Conference first, then the floor

The conference and the exhibition run on different days:

• Conference: May 4–6, 2027
• Exhibition: May 5–6, 2027

On the first day there is education only, with no show floor.

The program has two formats:

• Technical Conference Presentations: 30 or 60 minutes each
• Professional Development Courses: 2 or 4 hours each, with deeper instruction

The 2027 call for proposals lists these topic areas:

• crimping, ultrasonics, tooling and overmolding
• IPC/WHMA-A-620 quality, testing, FOD and failure analysis
• harness design, EV, AI and high-frequency cabling

Presentations must be technical rather than sales-focused.

Registration and travel

The organizer's registration page, which still showed 2026 deadlines when this page was written, lists the exhibit hall and networking as free. On that page, conference and professional development registration is free for WHMA/Global Electronics Association members and charged for nonmembers.

Official hotels in downtown Milwaukee hold group room blocks that close on set dates in April 2027. The organizer warns that third-party housing companies are not affiliated with the show.

Future dates announced by the organizer are a conference on May 9–11, 2028, with the exhibition on May 10–11, 2028.
