IANA Intermodal EXPO 2027

Intermodal EXPO 2027 runs September 13–15, 2027 at the Long Beach Convention Center in Long Beach, California. The Intermodal Association of North America (IANA) posted the save-the-date on its EXPO page after the 2026 show, which ran September 14–16 at the same venue.

What it is

EXPO is IANA's annual exhibition and conference for the intermodal freight industry. The organizer describes it as bringing together the full intermodal ecosystem: railroads and port authorities, motor carriers and drayage operators, intermodal equipment providers, ocean carriers, third-party logistics companies (3PLs and IMCs) and shippers. For 2027, IANA's exhibitor page says it expects 100+ exhibitors and 1,800+ attendees.

On the floor

The exhibitor page lists who buys from the floor: Class I railroad executives and terminal operators working on infrastructure and capital projects; fleets sourcing chassis, safety equipment, tracking software and maintenance; suppliers of chassis, smart-asset sensors and terminal technology; and logistics coordinators, ocean carriers and cargo owners sourcing capacity. Revenue from EXPO supports IANA's advocacy for the intermodal industry.

What the 2026 programme looked like

• Main-stage keynotes from industry leaders, plus concurrent sessions on Tuesday and Wednesday in three tracks: Applied Technologies, Security & Risk, and Tools for Growth.
• Meals were included, with daily breakfasts and lunches, plus networking receptions on and off the show floor.
• Sessions were mapped to audiences by mode, including rail, motor carriers, marine and ports, 3PLs and IMCs, shippers and young professionals.
