Outdoor Retailer 2027

Outdoor Retailer 2027 runs August 18–20, 2027 at the Minneapolis Convention Center, 1301 2nd Avenue S, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. August 18 is an Education Day; the exhibit hall is open August 19 and 20. It is the show's second year in Minneapolis after it moved there in 2026.

What it is

Outdoor Retailer is Emerald's trade show for the outdoor industry, connecting brands with specialty retailers since 1982. It has been held in Las Vegas, Anaheim, Long Beach, Reno, Salt Lake City and Denver before Minneapolis. The organizer says it moved the show to August because independent specialty retailers said the old timing was not working for them, and pitches the new slot as falling after peak summer selling and before fall production commitments.

The 2026 floor was organised into seven themed neighborhoods, with the GGG + Founded Outdoors Campsite Pavilion for emerging brands. Wild Reach, a creator program, brought content creators onto the floor, and the Retailer Playbook Lab ran hands-on workshops for specialty retailers; Emerald says the Lab returns in 2027 with workshops on merchandising, AI and re-commerce.

Hours and admission

Wednesday, August 18 (Education Day): Retailer Playbook Lab 8:30 a.m.–12:00 p.m., a lunch keynote, then Industry Day 1:30–5:00 p.m.
Thursday, August 19: exhibit hall 10 a.m.–6 p.m.
Friday, August 20: exhibit hall 10 a.m.–3 p.m. — the last day is short.

The show is not open to the public: only qualified buyers and members of the trade are admitted, and retail buyers register for free before the show, with a charge for those who register on site. Education sessions are included with a show badge.

There is a strict no-soliciting policy, and photographing exhibitors' products without permission is not allowed. Buyer registration had not opened when this page was checked; the organizer was taking RSVPs for updates.
