Canadian Hydrogen Convention 2027

The Canadian Hydrogen Convention is an exhibition with strategic and technical conferences for the hydrogen sector. It gathers government representatives, Indigenous leaders and industry professionals across the hydrogen value chain in Edmonton, with site tours of regional projects. It is organized by dmg events.

The Canadian Hydrogen Convention runs April 20–21, 2027 at Edmonton Convention Centre, Edmonton.

What it is

The organizer bills this as "Canada's Leading Hydrogen Event." It combines an exhibition with a strategic conference and a technical conference, and it brings together government representatives, Indigenous leaders and industry professionals from across the hydrogen value chain. Exhibitors include engineering partners, technology suppliers and service providers. The event is run by dmg events, and the organizer calls Edmonton the nation's first hydrogen hub.

Program structure

• Strategic Conference: in 2026 it covered hydrogen policy, investment and deployment, with speakers from government, industry and associations.
• Technical Conference: sessions on hydrogen production, transmission, distribution, end-use and environmental integration. In 2026 it moved onto the exhibition floor, and it returns April 20–21, 2027.
• Hydrogen Transport & Mobility Pavilion: a floor zone for hydrogen trucks, buses, rail, refueling infrastructure and fuel cells, with vehicle displays and the H₂ Mobility Xchange Theatre.
• Opening Night Reception: Tuesday, April 20, 5–7 p.m., at the convention center's assembly level. Entry comes with every delegate pass type: All-Access, Strategic Conference and Technical Conference.

• Tuesday, April 20: 8:00–17:00
• Wednesday, April 21: 8:00–17:00
• Thursday, April 22: 8:00–13:00, the site-tour day

Site tours take participants to hydrogen projects and companies in the Edmonton region. In 2026 the tours included transportation and a hosted breakfast, and one tour required participants to bring their own steel-toed boots.
