WMTS - Western Manufacturing Technology Show 2027

The Western Manufacturing Technology Show (WMTS) is SME's manufacturing technology exhibition and program for Western Canada, held at the Edmonton Expo Centre. Suppliers and OEMs show machine tools, tooling, metalworking, automation and additive manufacturing to manufacturers, alongside keynotes and education sessions.

WMTS - Western Manufacturing Technology Show runs April 28–30, 2027 at Edmonton Expo Centre, Edmonton.

What it is

The Western Manufacturing Technology Show is SME's manufacturing technology event for Western Canada, billed by the organizer as "Western Canada's Manufacturing Marketplace." Suppliers and OEMs display machine tools, tooling, metalworking and advanced manufacturing products. Floor categories run from machining centers, milling and boring machines, lathes, grinding and EDM to additive manufacturing and 3D printing, robotics, automation and controls, lasers, welding, waterjet and plasma cutting, measurement, inspection and test, CAD/CAM software, and Industry 4.0/IIoT. Alongside the exhibits there is a keynote series, panels and "Smart Sessions" on topics such as workforce development, future factory trends and government productivity programs.

Show hours

• Day 1 (April 28): 10 am – 5 pm
• Day 2 (April 29): 10 am – 5 pm
• Day 3 (April 30): 10 am – 2 pm, a short last day

The Edmonton Expo Centre is at 7515 118 Ave NW.

On the floor

In 2025 the show added a Discovery Zone, a curated floor area for first-time exhibitors covering ERP, additive manufacturing, lean performance and skilled-trades training. That year WMTS was co-located with the Automation Expo & Conference.

It also hosted a SmartMTX Pavilion, organized by the MEE Cluster, on smart manufacturing and digital solutions. The show site does not yet say whether these features return in 2027.
