DAC (Design Automation Conference) 2027

DAC, billed as the Chips to Systems Conference, is an annual technical conference and exhibition for electronic design and design automation, drawing designers, researchers, tool developers and vendors. It is sponsored by ACM and IEEE and supported by ACM SIGDA and IEEE CEDA.

DAC (Design Automation Conference) runs July 11–14, 2027 in San Jose.

What it is

DAC describes itself as "the global event for chips to systems": a technical conference plus an exhibition for designers, researchers, tool developers and vendors working on the design and automation of electronic systems. It is sponsored by the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), and supported by ACM's Special Interest Group on Design Automation (SIGDA) and IEEE's Council on Electronic Design Automation (CEDA).

The organizer names its audience as system designers and architects, logic and circuit designers, validation engineers, CAD managers, senior managers and executives, and researchers and academics from universities. The conference site is managed by Conference Catalysts, LLC.

Program and exhibition

The 2027 site highlights five areas: AI, Design, EDA, Security and Systems. Alongside the research program, DAC runs an Engineering Track of practical, application-focused sessions in which designers share real-world techniques for chip and system design. The exhibition and suite area covers:

• Automotive
• Design services and electronic design automation (EDA)
• Embedded systems and software, and intellectual property (IP)
• Security and privacy

The organizer points exhibitors to Tech Talks, panels and industry sessions, and the site links an Exhibitor Forum call for proposals. Student and recognition programs include the Ph.D. Forum, DAC Young Fellows, the University Demonstration, the Under-40 Awards, the Most Influential Papers Award and Women in Technology @ DAC.

Worth knowing before you book

• Exhibit and sponsorship sales go only through the DAC Exhibits Team at Hall-Erickson, Inc.; the organizer warns that outside companies soliciting booth space are not affiliated with DAC. It also publishes a separate hotel-fraud warning page.
• DAC moves around. The organizer lists DAC 2028 for June 25–28, 2028 in San Jose, and DAC 2029 for July 15–18, 2029 at the Austin Convention Center in Austin, Texas.
