Licensing Japan 2027
Licensing Japan runs June 23–25, 2027, at Tokyo Big Sight in Tokyo, as one of the shows that make up CONTENT TOKYO.
What it is
Licensing Japan is a business-to-business licensing trade show covering properties and creative content of every category. Exhibitors are licensors, property owners and agents for characters, brands, entertainment, publishing, sports, and arts and designs. Visitors are the people who buy licenses: product planning staff at manufacturers and wholesalers, product planning, sales and promotion staff at retailers, media, advertising and PR firms, and licensing agents.
The show is organized by RX Japan.
CONTENT TOKYO and the co-located shows
CONTENT TOKYO is an umbrella exhibition of specialized trade shows on content creation, production and licensing. Alongside Licensing Japan, the organizer lists:
- Brand Co-Creation EXPO, in three zones: Creative Strategy, Brand & Customer Experience Design, and Fan Community Marketing
- Creator Expo, where writers, manga and comic artists, illustrators, photographers, designers, calligraphers and video, anime, game and sound creators promote their work to publishers and corporate buyers
- CONTENT HUB, for partners that support planning, production and operation of content businesses
- Short Video & Short Drama ARENA, covering short-form video production, AI generation and social media operations
Visiting
- It is a trade show for business, and every visitor must register in advance. Registration is free, and the organizer says admission is free of charge. Visitor registration for 2027 is expected to open in April 2027.
- Registrants who sign up more than three weeks out get their visitor badge by email three weeks before the show. Those who register later get it on the confirmation screen.
- Visitors under 18 need a guardian's consent and must be accompanied by an adult 18 or older. Each adult may bring up to five children.
- The venue is Tokyo Big Sight, 3 Chome-11-1 Ariake, Koto City, Tokyo.
