NPE: The Plastics Show is the plastics industry's trade show, held every three years. It covers machinery, materials, moldmaking, recycling and automation across the plastics supply chain, with technology zones and education tracks. It is produced and owned by the Plastics Industry Association (PLASTICS).

What it is

NPE: The Plastics Show is the plastics industry's trade show, held every three years. The Plastics Industry Association (PLASTICS) produces and owns it.

It covers the whole plastics supply chain: machinery and automation, materials and additives, moldmaking, bottle manufacturing, recycling, and manufacturing services. Its zones are aimed at processors, OEMs and brand owners, mold designers and fabricators, and suppliers.

Technology zones

The show floor is organized into five technology zones, which have been reorganized for NPE2027:

• Bottle Zone: blow molding machinery, barrier technologies, molds, labeling, filling, closures and inspection
• Recycling & Sustainability Zone: recycled content, renewable materials and reducing greenhouse gas emissions
• Materials Zone: additives, colorants, resins and polymers
• Manufacturing Services Zone: suppliers, designers, engineers and software providers
• Moldmaking Zone: mold designers, fabricators and suppliers

A Sustainability Park and a live recycling demonstration of plastic scrap from the show floor are also part of the show.

Education and registration

Education is split by registration type:

• Show-floor stages are open to all attendees. Three stages (Innovation, Packaging and Sustainability) host 30-minute sessions.
• Classroom sessions of 30 and 60 minutes, and show floor tours of 90 minutes, both require the Expo+ or Expo+ One Day registration type. Tours also need a separate RSVP, which opens in January. Each weekday has a tour theme: Sustainability & Circularity on Monday, Advanced Manufacturing on Tuesday, Packaging on Wednesday and Future Technology on Thursday.

The program has eight content tracks, including automation, AI and Industry 4.0; manufacturing, processing and tooling; sustainability and circularity; and regulation, policy and economics. The organizer says session details will be posted in November. Social events include an opening party, a Flip & Sip reception and a Women in Plastics breakfast.
