Southern Farm Show 2027

The Southern Farm Show is an annual agricultural exposition at the North Carolina State Fairgrounds in Raleigh, run by Southern Shows Inc. and billed as the largest in the Carolinas and Virginia. It pairs farm equipment and supply exhibitors with farm-group meetings, workshops and pesticide continuing education ahead of the growing season.

The Southern Farm Show runs February 3–5, 2027 at North Carolina State Fairgrounds, Raleigh.

What it is

Southern Shows Inc. bills the show as "the largest annual agricultural exposition in the Carolinas and Virginia." It fills the fairgrounds with over 400 exhibitors, according to the organizer, alongside agricultural meetings, workshops and training aimed at getting farmers ready for the coming growing season. Exhibitor categories include hay equipment, irrigation and drainage, poultry and hog equipment, precision agriculture, drones, forestry, fencing and outdoor power equipment.

Finance, insurance and government agencies exhibit too. Exhibitors may sell equipment on display, for pickup after the show closes on Friday.

Hours and admission

• Wednesday: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
• Thursday: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
• Friday: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. (the last day closes an hour earlier)

Admission and parking are both free, and the show is open to the general public. The main parking, including handicap parking, is on Trinity Road. Parking inside the fairgrounds is not allowed during the show.

Vehicles with handicapped tags can enter at Gate 9. The show runs in all weather. Dogs are not allowed in the exhibit halls or tents (service animals excepted), and golf carts and four-wheelers are not permitted.

Meetings and continuing education

• Pesticide credits: two one-hour continuing education sessions on Wednesday morning for holders of an NC Department of Agriculture pesticide license. There is no charge and no pre-registration. Bring your license card or number to register on site.
• Ag Development Forum: Thursday at 9:30 a.m. in the Special Events Tent, with Agriculture Commissioner Steve Troxler's State of Agriculture address and an economic outlook.
• Annual meetings: the Tobacco Growers Association of North Carolina meets on Friday, February 5, and the NC Growers Association holds its annual meeting at the show on Wednesday.
• Draft Horse Pull: the Southern National Draft Horse Pull is billed as the show's grand finale.
