The Artist Project 2027

Artist Project is an annual Toronto art fair where collectors, curators, designers and the public meet independent contemporary artists from across Canada and buy art directly from them. It is produced by Informa Connect.

The Artist Project runs May 13–16, 2027 at Better Living Centre, Exhibition Place, Toronto.

What it is

Artist Project is a contemporary art fair in Toronto where visitors meet independent artists from across Canada and buy work directly from them. Collectors, curators, gallerists and designers use it to find new talent, and it is also open to the general art-loving public. Informa Connect produces it.

The organizer says the 2027 fair will feature more than 250 independent artists. Along with the booths there are large-scale installations and curator-led art tours.

For visitors

• The fair sells directly to the public. It is not a trade-only event.
• Each year some installation artists are given free exhibition space. Their works deal with themes such as identity, memory and societal transformation.
• The 2026 fair opened with an Opening Night Preview party, a chance to meet the artists and buy work before the weekend. The organizer had not posted opening-night details for 2027 when this page was written.

For artists

Exhibiting artists apply through a juried process, and applying is free. Booths are gallery-style, with 11-foot-high white hard walls.

The fair takes no commission on sales, so artists keep control of their own sales. Each exhibitor also gets a profile on the Artist Project website.
