Destination Southeast 2027

Destination Southeast is Northstar Meetings Group's hosted-buyer event for top-level, pre-qualified meeting and incentive professionals looking to book business in the Southeast. Planners are hosted by Northstar and meet Southeastern hotels, destinations and venues in pre-scheduled one-on-one appointments.

Destination Southeast 2027

Destination Southeast runs August 2–5, 2027 at the JW Marriott Tampa Water Street in Tampa, Florida. Northstar Meetings Group describes it as "the leading hosted-buyer event for top-level, pre-qualified meetings and incentive professionals looking to book business in the Southeast."

How a Northstar hosted-buyer event works

This is not an open-admission show. Meeting planners apply to attend as hosted buyers, and Northstar's FAQ says approved buyers receive round-trip airfare or a transportation allowance, hotel accommodation and complimentary activities in the host destination. The agenda combines one-on-one meetings with suppliers of the planners' choosing, networking, and educational sessions where attendees can earn CMP credits.

• Appointments are chosen in advance. About two weeks before the event, buyers request meetings with CVBs, hotels and resorts through an event portal, and Northstar finalises each schedule.
• Qualification. Most Northstar events require buyers who book nationally or in the event's region and have at least 100 total rooms per program.
• One application per event. Applying to one Northstar event does not cover another.
• Suppliers — hotels, destinations, DMCs and venues from the Southeast — book through Northstar's sales team.
